Howard Selina's first exhibitions after leaving the Royal Academy in 1972, were at the Thomas Gibson Gallery, in New Bond Street, and Situation Gallery, in Haunch of Venison Yard, off Brook Street. In 1973 he exhibited work at Gallery House and the following year at the PMJ Self
Gallery in Covent Garden, as well as pieces in a New Tendencies mixed show in Zagreb, in what was then still Yugoslavia.
From 1974 to 1978 he lived in New York and travelled around the US. Photographs from this time were published in Creative Camera. Private collectors of work include Peter Cochrane (of Tooths), and Alan Power. A fairly comprehensive interview and overview of his life and times can be found here.
