The path winds northwards through dense woodland, passing another disused quarry and also a group of caves.

One of the caves is known as Millican Dalton's Cave and has a curious history.

Earth for panel seven was collected just on the far side of Broadslack Gill; a landmark from the outward journey, here united with the River Derwent to flow north into Derwent Water.

The light was begining to fade.
